  • Chimneys - i ask you

I live in a new build small estate of townhouses and i noticed today that they have chimneys - bit silly but i counted them and realised there werent enough for all the houses This left me a bit peeved and raised a few questions in my mind.

    1. Given that the chimneys have absolutely no practical purpose i wonder what the logic was for creating a potential leak point now some will say to keep in with local area, not true another small estate slightly less new next to mines have no chimneys so thats not the answer.

    2.  Ok i would tend to agree that the houses look slightly better with chimneys but then you look again and realise there just arent enough - what the hell is that about and why does it bother me so

    answers on a postcard please

  • Day 1 of the New me then.....

    Well hello

First up Happy New Year to you

Ok then today was the first day of the year of Hippi then hmmmm, how did it go you might ask.

Before i begin to answer i must tell you of the new All time low  After what was  a fairly heavy night involving a fairly large amount of  Guiness, Lager, Southern Comfort and a load of Marks and Spencer's Nibble foodstuffs i decided to get on the scales to start my diet, makes a certain kind of sense i thought, weigh yourself and see how you get on.  Bugger that - i won't be doing that again in a hurry i was a massive 19 stone, 13 and a quarter pounds   That is 20 Stone really, and with me standing tall at 5'9", it does not paint a pretty picture.

So the first day - I am trying to follow basically a 'Slimming World' Diet, mainly because thats what my wife does and as she has lost four and a haf stone on that and now looks fantastic.  As the diet is in the house anyway its gotta be easier.  I have been good today, with the fact that i didnt get up til late it was easier i guess as its made it a short day, all the crap has gone out the house from the festive period so temptation is less, thats a good thing as i am not good in the face of any kind of temptation.  Having said that we had an absolutely fantastic Roast Beef Dinner with all the trimmings prepared for us by a friend and i managed to stay good - loadsof veg only 2 roast spuds, 1 yorkshire and a sensible portion of beef and best of all managed not to have any pudding.

    So my journey has started......
