I have a family wedding to attend at the beginning of March and every time thos miserable buggers see me they tell me how fat I am getting, I wouldn't mind but most of them are twice my size. Grrrrrr no-one can push your buttons the way family can <img src="/img/smilies/icon_censored.gif" alt=">:XX" class="middle" border="0">

Still - not to unhappy with progress as i really want to try and lose steadily so as to keep it off long term, thats what everyone tells me is the best thing to do!! Having said that i would like to lose at least a stone over the next 4 weeks so i can give the finger to my poxy family <img src="/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif" alt=":>" class="middle" border="0"> The last time i seen them, or they seen me i was this size almost exactly and i really wan't them to say i am looking better, i mean i always look better than my brother anyway cos im so damn gorgeous, but its time they realised it

After the week of Christmas with everyone being happy i am looking forward to everyone getting back to their miserable selves, but no everyone is still being Jolly and 'Happy New yearing' anyone in sight.

When is it that i will be able to respond, Not with a grimace and 'Happy New Year' but with a phrase along the lines of Piss off you twat. Now that would make everyone happier instead of all this forced joviality.

That makes me sound like a miserable bugger but really i'm not, i just like things to be the rightful way and too much happiness can be a bad thing, i mean, if you just let everone be happy, before you know it people would be smiling in the street. We surely can not allow that can we?

H

Had a light breakfast consisting of Melon and Yoghurt, a light lunch consisting of just fruit, and then as it was me cooking tonight i made chicken in a tomato based sauce with garlic & Rosemary roast potatoes, it was dead nice.

All in all not a bad day diet wise, had another oghurt and a SMALL chocolate bar as well on top of that (its allowed on my diet, honest). Thing is i usually get hungry in the evening, but today/tonight that seems not to be an issue....

Onwards and upwards i say - must have lost at least 3 stone this week (thinking perhaps i should modify my expectations somewhat)

1. Given that the chimneys have absolutely no practical purpose i wonder what the logic was for creating a potential leak point now some will say to keep in with local area, not true another small estate slightly less new next to mines have no chimneys so thats not the answer.

2. Ok i would tend to agree that the houses look slightly better with chimneys but then you look again and realise there just arent enough - what the hell is that about and why does it bother me so

answers on a postcard please

First up Happy New Year to you

Ok then today was the first day of the year of Hippi then hmmmm, how did it go you might ask.

Before i begin to answer i must tell you of the new All time low After what was a fairly heavy night involving a fairly large amount of Guiness, Lager, Southern Comfort and a load of Marks and Spencer's Nibble foodstuffs i decided to get on the scales to start my diet, makes a certain kind of sense i thought, weigh yourself and see how you get on. Bugger that - i won't be doing that again in a hurry i was a massive 19 stone, 13 and a quarter pounds That is 20 Stone really, and with me standing tall at 5'9", it does not paint a pretty picture.

So the first day - I am trying to follow basically a 'Slimming World' Diet, mainly because thats what my wife does and as she has lost four and a haf stone on that and now looks fantastic. As the diet is in the house anyway its gotta be easier. I have been good today, with the fact that i didnt get up til late it was easier i guess as its made it a short day, all the crap has gone out the house from the festive period so temptation is less, thats a good thing as i am not good in the face of any kind of temptation. Having said that we had an absolutely fantastic Roast Beef Dinner with all the trimmings prepared for us by a friend and i managed to stay good - loadsof veg only 2 roast spuds, 1 yorkshire and a sensible portion of beef and best of all managed not to have any pudding.

So my journey has started......

 Comments

The Story So Far...

How did i come to be here?

Well i am now 41 and presumably in the middle of a mid - life crisis, although to be fair still have all my hair and teeth and not a sports car or motorbike in sight.

As a youngster I never had a weight problem then I was a area champion swimmer and then i left school, joined the forces and all was still ok. After leaving the forces at 25 i go myself a sales job, driving around in my car eating burgers and chips and that kinda thing, very quickly i started getting heavier, ok i thought i joined the gym, my god did they do lovely muffins and flapjacks there

Anyway as time went on the battle continued, sometimes i was winning, sometimes i was losing until the year 2000 when in a moment of madness i bought a Gym!! seriously, just bought a Gym and thought oh dear what now. So as i had always been a bit of a boxer and martial artist i ran clubs and classes alongside running the gym, as you can imagine i got back in pretty good shape, however the gym as a business wasn't a great big earner and at the end of 2003 i had an offer to sell that i coulnt refuse, so i didn't. Well while i was training dso much at the gym i was eating really well at the same time so when i stopped training you can imagine what happened.

3 years later here i am at around 19 Stone something and thinking to myself - You fat B*d sort it out, so from tomorrow, 2007 i am embarking on a mission to get myself fit, healthy and able to see if I am wearing underpants without using mirrors and a series of ropes and pulleys!!

The purpose of this blog is to record my successes failures and feelings along they way, hopefully you might find it inspiring or annoying or amusing or whatever, if you read it and you have any feelings about it let me know, beats having no-one looking at it.

Wish me luck and join in if you wish

Happy New Year
Hippi
